About Kate

Kate McMeekin is a WHNP-BC, MSN, RN, born and raised in northern MN. She moved to Colorado to attend The University of Colorado Boulder and received a bachelor's degree in Sociology. She later returned to school for a nursing degree at Front Range Community College and a bachelor's degree in nursing at Grand Canyon University. After several years of working as a nurse in northern Colorado, she returned to school at the University of Colorado Anschutz, where she earned a master's degree in nursing specializing as a women's health nurse practitioner. She has spent the past several years working in general OB-GYN. During this time, she recognized the need for mental health providers specializing in obstetric care. She will graduate from the University of Cincinnati this Fall, 2024, with a post-master certification as a Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. As a dual-certified nurse practitioner, Kate plans to provide more focused care for women struggling with mental health during pregnancy as well as provide medication consultation and management for women who are on psychiatric medications desiring pregnancy and throughout the pregnancy. She is looking forward to this new role and being able to provide care to a much-needed population.

Kate is also an active board member of the National Accreta Foundation. She is passionate about maternal health advocacy and the patient experience. She prides herself on connecting with her patients and providing them with empathetic, collaborative care.
