Gestational Diabetes
Gestational diabetes mellitus (pronounced jes-TAY-shun-ul die-uh-BEET-eez MELL-eh-tiss), or GDM, is a type of diabetes that develops only during pregnancy. The word gestational means “during pregnancy.” GDM is one of the most common health problems during pregnancy. About 6% of all pregnancies are complicated by GDM.
